Does ACE COMBAT 8 Use Denuvo? Steam DRM Explained

Windows Steam product declaration; not a console DRM rule or a measured performance comparison.

At a glance

Yes. The Steam store lists Denuvo Anti-Tamper and a machine-activation limit of five different systems within a day. This is a limit on activation across systems, not five game launches. Easy Anti-Cheat is listed separately.

What Steam declares

The store page for App ID 2288340 lists Denuvo Anti-Tamper, with a machine-activation limit of five different systems within a day.

The unit matters: the field refers to different systems being activated. It does not say that you can only start the game five times a day or that your licence is permanently limited to five machines. The field does not establish whether “a day” is a calendar day or a rolling interval.

Denuvo and Easy Anti-Cheat are separate

Steam also lists kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat. That separate anti-cheat declaration does not negate the Denuvo declaration.

The store fields do not provide a verified offline-use duration, a requirement to connect at every launch, a removal schedule or a quantified performance cost. They also do not establish Steam Deck Online compatibility.

Check the edition you are using

Confirm that you are viewing the Windows Steam product with App ID 2288340, then inspect its DRM and anti-cheat notices. An official change to those components or activation rules would require a corresponding update here.

These Steam declarations should not be applied to PS5 or Xbox editions as if they had the same machine-activation rule.
